FLO Space Divider

The Flo Space Divider is supposed to not only divide space, but also aims invokes ambient thought. The design was inspired by rotating quarter circles. Each tile is made of 30 pieces of laser cut cardboard pieces laminated together with super glue and white glue. The hanging system is composed of two hemlock beams clamping steel wires that run through the corrugation of the cardboard. The bottom of each column is support by a washer and bearing. This was my first semester long project. It was a great learning experience as I moved between digital and craft prototyping to work out problems. It evolved my thinking and capacities in production.
